Police said the SWAT team was on scene for a situation with a potentially mentally ill man in Northside, Thursday evening.

According to responding officers, police were called to a residence to talk to a man having a potential mental health issue.
While talking to the man officers were alerted and decided to move back and call for SWAT, officers said.
Officers would not confirm what the man said or did to escalate the situation.
A short time later, police reported the scene had de-escalated peacefully.
