TULARE COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – An 18-year-old woman has died after she drowned in Lake Success outside Porterville on Thursday, according to the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies say they received a report at around 4 p.m. of a missing woman in the water. She was swimming in the area of the lake north of Highway 190 at the time.
Rescuers have recovered the woman’s body. Witnesses say she was standing in around four feet of water when she stepped into a large drop-off and drowned.
