Results from Little Britches Rodeo
The Kit Carson County Little Britches Rodeo celebrated its 61st year Memorial Day Weekend in Burlington at the Kit Carson County Fairgrounds.
To those who attended from Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Wyoming, it was a great rodeo experience.
We started out our 9-rodeo series Aug. 28 & 29, 2021, Oct. 2 & 3, 2021, and May 28 & 29 Memorial Day weekend.
Competitors had to attend 6 of the nine rodeos to be eligible for all around and reserve all around awards.
Competitors in each of the five divisions with 65 contestants: Little Wranglers (boys & girls ages 5-7), Junior Girls 8-13, Junior Boys 8-13, Senior Girls 14-18 and Senior Boys 14-18 competed hard to earn enough points to qualify for nationals.
The National Little Britches Rodeo finals will be held in Guthrie, Okla., July 4-10, and allows young cowgirls and cowboys from all over the U.S. a chance to compete on a large scale.
Jr. Boys had 12 contestants, Jr. Girls had 17 contestants, Sr. Boys had 8 contestants, Sr. Girls had 12 contestants, and Little Wranglers had 11 contestants.
