MACON, Ga (WGXA) -- Standing with Tater is exactly what people from all of the world are still doing after protesting his firing from Fincher's BBQ last week after 20 years of employment.
Tater says, although he served everyone with a smile, he wasn't always served with the same energy at Fincher's BBQ.
"It was like I was slaving. They were slaving me."
But Tater says he didn't let that phase him.
"I gave everything to God."
And new doors opened for Tater.
"It was kinda like LeBron going to free agency so we got to grab that guy quick."
General manager of Vibez, Marshall Talley says Tater was the perfect fit.
"Here our main objective is customer service and, over the twenty years, the outpour from the community, like yeah he got that customer service."
Customer service that caught many of our viewers' attention prompting them to respond on social media and push for other businesses to give him a shot.
Emily Sealock said, Hhe will end up with more pay and a better job." Donnie Tarpley said, "Tater was always courteous and helpful as a waiter when he served my table. Best of luck to you Tater. Sometimes the grass is greener on the other side."
A new side that Tater can still love on the community
"He has close ties to the community."
Tater says he has a couple of goals for Vibez.
"To help it grow and spread love and peace."
A peaceful vibe that Tater says he feels at his new job.
"The people saying I'm standing by you, I love you, we support you, it was like walking into my own home."
I asked Tater what motivates him to show love to everyone.
"Because you never know what someone is going through."
