The Raynham Police Department arrested a Taunton man on Wednesday after he was found sleeping in a vehicle in the parking lot of Raynham school.
Police responded to a report of a male sleeping in a vehicle at Lillie B. Merrill Elementary School around 9:00 a.m. where they discovered 40-year-old Jeremy Davis exposed and sleeping in a car.
Police found meth and a .40 caliber handgun during a consented search of the vehicle.
"I would like to acknowledge the members of the Parks and Recreation department for doing the right thing and calling us when they noticed something out of the ordinary," said Chief James Donovan in a release. "We always encourage community members to say something whenever they see something strange, and that's exactly what they did in this instance"
Davis was arraigned at Taunton District Court and charged with:
- Possession of Class B Drug (methamphetamine )
- Drug violation near a school
- Indecent exposure
- Possession of a loaded firearm without a license
- Carrying a firearm on school grounds
- Improper storage of a firearm
