THE OLATHE SCHOOL DISTRICT HAS A NEW ALERT SYSTEM FOR ALL STAFF IN THE EVENT OF A CRISIS A STAFF MEMBER CAN NOW CALL FOR HELP WITH THE PUSH OF A BUTTON ON THEIR BADGE THE BUTTON PROVIDES THE ADMINISTRATION SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICERS AND OTHER FIRST RESPONDERS WITH PRECISE LOCATION INFORMATION OF THE IMPACTED STAFF MEMBER ENABLING THEM TO RESPOND QUICKLY IN ANY SITUATION AND IT’S COMING AFTER THAT. Staff members can now call for help with the push of a button

The Olathe School District has a new security alert system for all its staff.In the event of a crisis, a staff member can now call for help with the push of a button on their badge.The CrisisAlert button provides the administration, school resource officers and other first responders with the precise location information of the affected staff member, enabling them to respond quickly in any situation.The new tool is being implemented following a March shooting at Olathe East High School. A school resource officer and an assistant principal were shot after fellow students reported that Jaylon Elmore had a gun in his bag.Elmore has been charged with attempted murder.

The CrisisAlert button provides the administration, school resource officers and other first responders with the precise location information of the affected staff member, enabling them to respond quickly in any situation.
