Cal Fire officials say the Nelson fire is 100% contained and burned 250 acres.
No structures were destroyedand the cause is under investigation.
UPDATE, JUNE 30, 9:11 PM:
CAL FIRE says the Nelson Fire is now 50% contained after burning 275 acres near Nelson Avenue and Cottonwood road in Oroville.
Butte Unit officials said their firefighters responded to reports of the fast-moving vegetation fire in the Campbell Hills area, near the Thermalito Forebay, at 3:17 p.m. on Thursday.
CAL FIRE said both air and ground units arrived to the scene and quickly mitigated the threat to PG&E's Table Mountain Substation on Cottonwood Road.
The fire burned in open grassland, allowing it to grow very quickly, CAL FIRE said. However, within two hours, the fire's forward progress was stopped.
In total, CAL FIRE says 16 engines, 2 water tenders, 3 hand crews, 3 dozers, 4 overhead, and a helicopter, from agencies including the Oroville Fire Department, the Butte County Sheriff's Office, PG&E and CHP-Oroville, responded to the fire.
As per CAL FIRE's most recent update, reported containment has decreased to 50% and acreage has increased to 275.

CAL FIRE says the Nelson Fire is now over halfway contained after burning 250 acres near Nelson Avenue and Cottonwood Road in Oroville.
According to the CAL FIRE Butte Unit, the Nelson Fire is now 60% contained.
All previous evacuation warnings have been lifted.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The Butte County Sheriff's Office has lifted the Evacuation Warning north of the Afterbay for Butte County Evacuation Zone 737.
The warning was issued in response to the Nelson Fire, last reported to be burning around 250 acres with 40% containment near Nelson Avenue and Cottonwood Road in Oroville.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The Nelson Fire has exploded to 200 acres near Nelson Avenue and Cottonwood Road in Oroville, according to CAL FIRE.
However, CAL FIRE Butte Unit officials said their firefighters and air resources are making good progress.
Additionally, the Butte County Sheriff's Office has issued an Evacuation Warning for residents living in Butte County Evacuation Zone 737, which includes: Highway 99 east to Highway 70, Highway 149/Highway 70 Interchange south past Cottonwood Road, including Table Mountain Overcrossing west of Highway 70. Residents are asked to be prepared to evacuate should the fire's behavior change.

The Evacuation Warning is issued for residents living within Zone 737, which includes the following roads: Highway 99 east to Highway 70, Highway 149/Highway 70 Interchange south past Cottonwood Road, including Table Mountain Overcrossing west of Highway 70.

CAL FIRE Butte Unit officials said the fire, named the "Nelson Fire," is currently burning around 75 acres at a moderate rate of spread between Nelson Road and Cottonwood Road.

Firefighters are currently at the scene of a vegetation fire burning around 75 acres off of Nelson Avenue in Oroville.
CAL FIRE said the fire, being called the "Nelson Fire," is burning at a moderate rate of spread between Nelson Road and Cottonwood Road between Hwy 70 and Hwy 99.
Additionally, officials said they've ordered more resources to the fire including 10 engines and air resources.
