CALLAWAY — Bay County Sheriff's Office deputies on Wednesday arrested a man wanted in the Kissimmee area on attempted murder charges.

Deputies assisting U.S. Marshals Service agents began watching a home in the Callaway area on Monday for Safari H.T. Rodriguez, 19.

Rodriguez, who told authorities he lives in Panama City, was wanted in connection with a June 3 shooting in Osceola County, according to a news release from the sheriff's office. BCSO officials said Rodriguez does not live in Bay County.

He is accused of killing one man, shooting a woman and then firing multiple shots at a second man before fleeing the area, the release said.

When BCSO Criminal Investigations and Warrants Division investigators confirmed Rodriguez was at the Callaway home, the BCSO SWAT team was called in to apprehend him. He was arrested Wednesday without incident by SWAT officers and the Marshals Service agents.

Rodriguez remained in the Bay County Jail on Thursday, being held without bond and awaiting extradition on charges of two counts of attempted murder and one count of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

A spokesman for the Osceola County Sheriff's Office did not respond to phone calls from The News Herald seeking details on the charges.
