A Dorchester County died on Friday, June 24 when his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck.
Matthew Copeland, 38, of Ridgeville, died at the scene of the crash, according to Colleton County Coroner Richard Harvey.
The collision occurred about 7 p.m. on Peirce Road, near the intersection of Brocktown Road near Cottageville.
According to S.C. Highway Patrol Master Trooper David Jones, the driver of a 2005 Dodge truck was stopped on Peirce Road and was preparing to turn left at the intersection when the victim ran into the truck. The victim was driving a 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycle.
The driver of the truck was not injured in the crash.
The S.C. Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
