Authorities say a Johnstown man was arrested Wednesday in Westmoreland County after attacking and injuring an officer during a drug bust.
Police say Cortez Haselrig, the son of Johnstown native and former Pittsburgh Steeler Carlton Haselrig, was taken into custody at the Giant Eagle parking lot in Ligonier.
Authorities say Haselrig was in possession of approximately 50 grams of raw fentanyl.
Authorities say police also searched his Johnstown home, located along the 100 block of Churchill Street, and found even more fentanyl.
Police say the bust is part of a larger investigation into drug trafficking between Cambria and Westmoreland counties.
“I thank all of the law enforcement departments and officers involved in this investigation and arrest for their dedication and commitment to fight the war on drugs in our county and beyond. This is of paramount importance to my office and the safety and security of our communities," said Nicole Ziccarelli, Westmoreland County District Attorney.
