Drain residents vote in recall election

DRAIN, Ore. – Voters in Drain are filling out ballots in a recall election targeting a city councilor.

The accusations against Jo Barker on the ballot include a “hostile work environment” as well as making accusations against the city administrator.
Barker’s response on the ballot claims the accusations are false and alleged that there were improprieties with a recent hire.
The Douglas County Clerk says voters have until 8:00 p.m. on July 12 to submit their ballot.
Barker’s current term expires at the end of 2024, according to the city website.
