CLEVELAND, Ohio – Earth Fare is returning to Greater Cleveland.

The organic and natural grocery store is planning to open a store in Fairview Park on Wednesday, July 27, the company announced in a press release. The store - at 3450 Westgate Mall, Fairview Park – will be its second in Ohio. One is in Canton.

In February 2020, right before the coronavirus pandemic took root, the Asheville, North Carolina-based company closed its Ohio stores, including one at the Fairview Park address. Under previous ownership, it declared bankruptcy, with multiple companies and other grocery chains gobbling up Earth Fare locations.

Now, Earth Fare operates under Hulsing Enterprises and has more than 20 locations in eight states with an emphasis on healthy foods. In the release, Earth Fare says it is the only grocery market to develop a “food philosophy” that bans all artificial ingredients, trans fats, high fructose corn syrup, and added hormones and antibiotics.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony is set for 7:45 a.m. with doors opening at 8 a.m. As part of the opening, the company said it is donating $1,000 to Cleveland Roots, a community-based food hub and grower that offers educational opportunities for residents. A gift-card giveaway for the first 200 customers in line is planned, with one person winning a $500 Earth Fare gift card.
