Eastern Shore man arrested in connection with triple stabbing in Ocean City
Authorities arrested an Eastern Shore man Wednesday in connection with a triple stabbing in Ocean City last week.Ocean City police said federal and state law enforcement officials arrested Paul Baynard, 23, of Ridgley, in Queen Anne's County.Police said the arrest stems from a fight that ended in a stabbing shortly before midnight on June 20 in the area of Wicomico Street and Atlantic Avenue in Ocean City.Police said officers found three people suffering from stab wounds: An 18-year-old Wye Mills man, who was flown to Shock Trauma in Baltimore; a 21-year-old Wye Mills man, who was flown to Christiana Hospital in Delaware; and a 17-year-old Centreville boy, who was taken to TidalHealth Peninsula Regional in Salisbury. All three victims have since been released.Police said that as assailants ran onto the boardwalk, officers arrested a 17-year-old boy. Police said detectives used cameras, searched social media and spoke with witnesses, which led to the identification of Baynard as a suspect.Baynard was charged with first- and second-degree attempted murder, first- and second-degree assault and reckless endangerment. He remains held without bond.
