Enjoy Fourth of July Fun in Ulysses

Posted

There’s lots of activities planned this year for a fun-filled Fourth of July. Grant County Recreation has organized an afternoon of games, food, contests, swimming and entertainment from 12:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Prairie Winds Park in Ulysses.

Bring the entire family out to enjoy an Apple Pie Baking Contest, a Homemade Ice Cream contest and a Cornhole tournament. Food booths will be onsite and the pool will be open for those who need to cool down.

Don’t forget your blanket or lawn chair and remember that no alcohol is allowed in the park.

The day actually begins at 8:00 a.m. as the Rec sponsors their annual Adventure Race at Prairie Winds Park. Teams are made up of one adult and one child and the cost to enter is $20.00 per team. Shirts will be given to all who register and prizes will be given to the winners.

For information on any of the Grant County Recreation events or to register for an event, call 620-356-4233.

The Fourth of July will come to a close with the evening fireworks display at dark.
