SALINA, Kan. (KAKE) - The Kansas Highway Patrol says a driver involved in a non-injury crash I-135 in Saline County was struck and killed when he ran into the roadway.

Trooper Ben Gardner said KHP was notified at around 6:30 a.m. Thursday about a non-injury crash involving two vehicles on the interstate about three miles south of Salina. It was reported that one driver was walking south from the scene. 

Gardner said shortly after, another crash was reported, this one involving a pedestrian and resulting in death.

The patrol's online crash log states 25-year-old David Jackson ran out into the interstate and was struck by a southbound SUV. He was from St. Louis. 

The two people in the SUV were not hurt. 

The patrol did not release additional information regarding either accident.
