An Edgeworth property is the recipient of the Professional Silver Award for Design by The Society of American Registered Architects.

The property is currently for sale, listed by Piatt Sotheby’s International Realty.

William H. Childs Jr. & Associates Inc. were the architects/planners for the home and accepted the award.

“This home is an architectural masterpiece,” said Robyn Jones, the real estate advisor representing the sale of the property. “It seamlessly blends the best of the home’s original architecture with the modern conveniences and amenities homeowners have come to expect from homes of such grandeur.”

The home, located at 330 Shields Lane, is listed for $6,250,000 and offers the perfect welcome with a grand exterior featuring an early 1900s slate roof and copper gutters. The interior spares no detail or expense. Soaring ceilings, oversized doors and windows and a palatial floorplan with six bedrooms and five full and three half bathrooms make the home a true statement of elegance.

The main floor is home to a living room, with French doors that open out to a patio with views of the gardens. In the family room, coffered ceilings flow overhead, paired with stained glass windows and a brick surround fireplace.

Up the curved staircase to the second floor is a handsome office space. Additionally, three large bedrooms, two with private baths and one hallway bath, as well as a large laundry room round out the original portion of the home.

Follow the arched ceiling hallway past the elevator and there’s a sumptuous owner’s suite with beautiful coffered ceilings and a fireplace. The on-suite features imported marble flooring, an oversized soaking tub, tiled steam shower with wall jets, and individual vanities. A walk-in closet with a custom closet system, as well as a dressing room, provide ample storage.

“This award confirms what we already know about this home,” Jones said. “It is an iconic piece of architecture and design located in one of our region’s most sought-after communities.”
