State College police say a New Jersey state trooper is facing multiple sex-related charges after being accused of groping a 14-year-old girl inside a Centre County hotel in April.
According to the affidavit, police say David De Jesus, 45, of Howell, New Jersey is accused of "touching the teen's bare breast" inside a room at the State College Ramada Hotel and Conference Center.
Police say they spoke with the victim in May, who told officers that De Jesus, as well as her and her family, were among several families visiting the State College-area for a wrestling tournament in mid-April.
Police say, according to the victim, De Jesus was reportedly drinking near the hotel's swimming pool-area and had invited her back to his room.
Authorities say De Jesus reportedly began asking the victim "weird questions," including about her age.
Investigators say De Jesus was visibly intoxicated, according to the victim, and had even allowed the teen to drink some of his alcohol.
Police say after De Jesus allegedly groped the teen, he reportedly instructed her to leave his room "a few minutes after he did" so "nobody would think anything happened."
De Jesus faces one felony count of unlawful contact with a minor, as well as misdemeanor charges of indecent assault of a person less than 16-years-old, indecent assault without consent and furnishing alcohol to a minor, according to online court records.
De Jesus was arraigned on the aforementioned charges Thursday morning and has since been released on unsecured bail, court dockets show.
His preliminary hearing is scheduled for next week.
