LYNCHBURG, Va. – UPDATE - June 30, 2022, at 5:10 p.m.
The Lynchburg Police Department is searching for two armed and dangerous men in connection to a shooting.

The shooting happened on Wednesday shortly before 10 p.m. in the 2200 block of Poplar Street and resulted in a 16-year-old boy being hospitalized, according to authorities.
At this time, 44-year-old Richard Lamont McDaniel and 41-year-old Taurus Lamont McDaniel, both of Lynchburg, are wanted on the following charges:
- Armed robbery
- Malicious wounding
- Shooting from a vehicle
- Use of a firearm in the commission of a felony
Authorities say the two suspects remain at large and should be considered armed and dangerous.
This is an ongoing investigation, according to the police department.

A 16-year-old boy was hospitalized after he was shot in the leg multiple times Wednesday night, according to the Lynchburg Police Department.
On Wednesday at 9:53 p.m., Lynchburg police responded to the call of a teen that had been shot in the 2200 block of Poplar Street.
Officials said that when officers arrived, they found a 16-year-old boy who had been shot several times in the leg.
The Lynchburg Police Department said the teen was transported to Lynchburg General Hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Lynchburg authorities are still investigating.
