Armed and dangerous: Men wanted for shooting of teen in Lynchburg

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WDBJ) - Lynchburg Police have identified two suspects in the shooting of a teenager on Poplar Street Wednesday night.

Richard Lamont McDaniel, 44 and and Taurus Lamont McDaniel, 41, both of Lynchburg, are wanted on the following charges:

  • Armed robbery
  • Malicious wounding
  • Shooting from a vehicle
  • Use of a firearm in commission of a felony

They are considered armed and dangerous, according to police.

A 16-year-old boy was hospitalized Wednesday night after the shooting.

Police say they responded to the 2200 block of Poplar at 9:53 p.m. after they were notified of a teen who had been shot.

The teen was found with gunshot wounds in his leg. He was taken to Lynchburg General Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
