Ozark County Fourth of July events, fireworks and other gatherings

The following events have been scheduled over the Fourth of July weekend. 

 

Saturday, July 2

 

Theodosia golf cart parade and fireworks is Saturday, July 2

 

Fireworks at Theodosia will start at dark Saturday, July 2, over Bull Shoals Lake, viewable from the campground area and adjoining Theodosia Marina Resort (TMR). 

The annual Fourth of July golf cart parade lines up at TMR at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Ft. Cook RV Park office. The popular parade winds around the upper part of the campground and the RV park. A prize will be awarded for the “People’s Choice” entry. All parade participants will be entered into a drawing for their chance to win other prizes too. 

There’s no entry fee, and any smaller motorized vehicle that is not a car or truck is welcome including four-wheelers, side-by-sides and other ATV/UTVs.

Romance fireworks will begin at 9 p.m. Saturday

 

A group of Romance-area residents invite neighbors and community members to the second annual Romance fireworks display, which begins at 9 p.m. Saturday, July 2, from Mike and Heather Gardner’s home on Sister Knob near Romance.

The fireworks show, which Gardner said will probably last 25-30 minutes, should be easily viewable from County Road 122, off County Road 119 between Y and 95 Highways, and from other sections of old Highway 5 north of Y Highway.

 

SpringTown 66 to play at Lake Bums Brew Co. Saturday 

 

Lake Bums Brew Co in Pontiac will have a Fourth of July party with live music by SpringTown 66 from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, July 2. The band describes themselves as “covering hits from every generation.” 

The taproom and brewery, open from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday - Saturday during the summer, offers its own locally-brewed beer on tap, a selection of wine and mixed drinks to enjoy inside or at the facility’s open-air patio and outdoor space.

Warriors2US weekend celebration begins Saturday

 

Everyone is invited to Hardenville’s Warriors2US Foundation headquarters for the annual July 4 weekend celebration.

The Warriors2US facility is a recreational camp for active duty and honorably or medically discharged veterans as well as law enforcement officers, firefighters, emergency medical personnel and select and scheduled family and friends. 

The celebration, at the Warriors2US Foundation at 404 County Road 519A off Highway 160 in Hardenville, will include music, food, fireworks, friends and fellowship on Saturday, July 2.

Theodosia Masons to serve breakfast

 

The Masons in Sampson Lodge #298 in Theodosia will serve their regular first-Saturday community breakfast from 7 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the Lodge on Highway 160 in Theodosia. 

The menu will include eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, pancakes, waffles and cinnamon rolls, coffee and orange juice. The cost is donation. There will also be a gun raffle. Everyone is welcome.

 

Sunday, July 3

 

VFW to host Hollow Threat Band

 

VFW Post #5366 in Isabella will host Hollow Threat Band from 8 a.m. until midnight Saturday, July 2, at its building on HH Highway just off Highway 160 in Isabella. There is no charge for the Independence Day weekend event, and everyone is welcome.

PPPVFD hosts breakfast

 

Pontiac / Price Place Volunteer Fire Department will host an Independence Day Weekend breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. Sunday, July 3, at fire station #1 next to the post office on W Highway in Pontiac. 

Breakfast will include biscuits, gravy, scrambled eggs, sausage patties, pancakes (Mickey Mouse or regular) and fresh fruit.  Coffee, milk, orange juice will be drink choices.

 

Monday, July 4

 

Annual Rockbridge July 4th celebration is on the holiday

 

Rockbridge Rainbow Trout Ranch will host its annual July 4th celebration on Monday, July 4, at the resort located on County Road 142 in Rockbridge. Fireworks start at dusk. 

The annual celebration will include a variety of fun activities from 1 p.m. throughout the day. Vendor booths, including food, crafts and more, are scheduled to participate and will be open at 1 p.m. 

Kids fishing will be available from 5 to 7 p.m. for a $1 to $5 fee, which includes keeping the fish. A bounce house and train rides will also be available at the same time to keep young ones entertained and will cost $1 each ride/bounce. There will also be games and face painting. 

Live music by Whetsone will be performed from 5 to 8 p.m. 

 

Food truck at Pontiac park on July 4

 

“At The Curb” food truck will be at Pontiac park and campground from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, July 4, to serve campers and other lake visitors in the area that day. To find out more about the food truck, search for “At the Curb Food Truck & Catering” on Facebook. Boat parking is available.

Just Jackie’s restaurant, located within the park, is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays including holidays that fall on those days; therefore, it will be closed July 4.
