Garbage truck ‘just dropped’ into sinkhole in southeast Michigan, driver says

DETROIT – A garbage truck was driving along its route when it “just dropped” into a sinkhole, the driver told WDIV Local 4 Thursday morning.

The back half of the truck fell into a sinkhole near the intersection of Brooklyn Street and Michigan Avenue in Detroit’s Corktown neighborhood on Thursday, June 30, the report said. No one was injured.

The road was closed following the incident as crews worked to pull out the truck and repair the road, the report said.
