A march in favor of women's reproductive rights has been scheduled in Gadsden.

The March for Women's Reproductive Rights will take place at 6 p.m. Saturday, beginning at the YMCA of the Coosa Valley.

The plan is for marchers to start at the YMCA and make the quarter-mile walk to Gadsden City Hall, peacefully protesting the U.S. Supreme Court's June 24 decision to overturn its 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling that permitted abortion.

"Come out July 2 to participate in a march for reproductive rights," the event description on Facebook said. "Bring your signs, bring your voice and let your elected officials know you won't stand for less than all your reproductive rights."

For more information on the march, visit the Facebook event page.
