Jury finds 41-year-old woman accused of drug, firearm offense guilty in Ocala
The U.S. Department of Justice says a jury has reached a verdict for a woman accused of conspiring to distribute drugs.
On Sept. 2, 2020, a grand jury indicted 41-year-old Nishera Johnson from Silver Springs Shores.
According to the DOJ, almost two pounds of methamphetamine were found in Johnson's vehicle on Nov. 26, 2019.
Investigators found a marijuana grow operation at a shed behind Johnson's home, where she'd been living with a child and the co-defendant.
In December 2020, when a search warrant was issued, multiple firearms, approximately one pound of cocaine and ammunition were discovered.
The U.S. Department of Justice says Johnson is a convicted felon and prohibited from having firearms and ammunition.
Johnson has been found guilty of one count of conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.
She could face a minimum of 15 years for the firearm offense and 10 years for the drug offense.
Johnson's sentencing hearing is set for Sept. 22.
