An Idaho Falls man was arrested after police say he choked and poured bleach on a woman.
The man, 35-year-old Adam Rhoades, had a no-contact order between himself and the woman. Police say he came to her residence despite the order and began arguing with her.
The woman told police he put his hands around her neck and dumped bleach down the back of her head. Rhoades also reportedly hit a phone out of her hand and punched her in the nose. He also allegedly grabbed a knife and told her he'd slit her throat "from ear to ear."
Officers reported that the woman had several minor injuries and skin irritation from the bleach. Emergency services responded to the incident.
Rhoades initially denied being at the woman's house, but police say he later confessed after seeing a video recording of when he arrived. Rhoades allegedly admitted to hitting a phone out of the woman's hand and throwing bleach at her but denied choking or punching her.
Rhoades was booked into the Bonneville County Jail for aggravated battery, aggravated assault and attempted strangulation--all felonies.
