Martin C. Reiss Jr.

Martin C. Reiss Jr., 89, of Perryville passed away Monday, June 27, 2022 at Independence Care Center.
He was born February 17, 1933 in Sereno to Martin C. and Virgie (Gibbar) Reiss Sr.
He and Hilda A. Schweiss were married October 17, 1964. She preceded him in death on December 1, 2015.
Martin was Farmer/Brick Layer. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and Brick Layers Union Local # 1 in St. Louis. He served in the National Guard in Perryville.
Survivors include son, Russell Reiss of Perryville; daughter, Lisa (Michael) Wene of Canton, MI; brother, Norman Reiss of Perryville; four sisters, Shirley Reiss of West Palm Beach, FL, Dorothy Smith of Valparaiso, IN, Doris Dauster of Perryville, June (Kim) Moore of Jackson; sister-in-law, Betty Reiss of Red Bud, IL, and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Hilda A. Reiss; three brothers, Harold, Donald and Dale Reiss; sister, Theresa Sutterer.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 30, 2022 and from 8- 9:30 a.m. with a rosary at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, July 1, 2022 at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 1, 2022 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville with Rev. Joe Geders C.M. officiating.
Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Perryville. Graveside Military Honors will be provided by The American Legion Post #133.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church or Independent Care Center.
