Two individuals were arrested in Letcher County on Monday following a police chase that ended when the driver crashed into a telephone pole.

Whitesburg Police Department Officials say that 27-year-old Charles Michael Osborne was driving along Jenkins Road when he is said to have pulled out in front of an officer. The officer in question recognized Osborne as he was wanted for absconding from parole. A traffic stop was attempted, but Osborne opted to speed away, leading police on a chase through Hospital Road, RT 15, and RT 119.

Osborne is said to have been traveling at speeds of around 75 mph in the wrong lane in addition to passing vehicles on blind curves. The front tire of Osborne’s car eventually went flat, but the chase continued until he crashed into the pole.

Osborne was arrested and charged with fleeing police, wanton endangerment, and other charges. 37-year-old Joanna Davis, who was the passenger of Osborne’s car, was also arrested after officers are said to have found her with meth and a pipe.
