We've made the list, now it's time for you to check it twice before heading to a fireworks tent near you. Are you allowed to shoot off fireworks in your area? Check out our list of updated fireworks rules and regulations for cities across the metro area.MISSOURIBELTON: Allowed June 28-July 3 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Allowed July 4 from 10 a.m. to midnight. Fireworks allowed on Sundays after noon. Not allowed: bottle rockets, skyrockets, Roman candles.BLUE SPRINGS: Allowed July 1-3 from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Allowed July 4 from 10:00 a.m.-midnight. Bottle rockets and firecrackers with more than 50 milligrams of powder are prohibited.SHAWNEE: Fireworks may be set off between 10 a.m. and 11 p.m. on July 3 and July 4, 2022.Sparklers, smoke bombs, fountains and other fireworks are allowed. Bottle rockets, sky lanterns and M80's are NOT allowed.SPRING HILL: Allowed July 2-5 from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. To light fireworks, the city requires you to be 18 years or older or be under adult supervision.TONGANOXIE: Allowed June 30-July 4 from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Bottle rockets not allowed. Must obtain a fireworks-use permit for free from a licensed fireworks vendor, or from city hall. PLATTE CITY: Allowed June 20-July 3 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Allowed July 4 between 10 a.m. to midnight. Fireworks are prohibited on any public park or public grounds of the city.

RAYMORE: Allowed July 1-3 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Allowed July 4 from 10 a.m. to midnight.

RAYTOWN: Allowed from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. on July 4. Must get a permit from city hall or fire department. Bottle rockets, Roman candles and any form of stick missiles are illegal.

RIVERSIDE: Allowed from June 26-July 2 & July 5 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Allowed July 3-4 from 10 a.m. to midnight. No bottle rockets allowed, and fireworks can’t be discharged within 600 feet of any church, hospital, medical facility, public school, library or day care facility or within 300 feet of where fireworks are stored.

BONNER SPRINGS: Allowed July 3-4 from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Not allowed within 100 feet of retail stand, or on public property.

DESOTO: Allowed 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. July 2-3 and 10 a.m. midnight July 4. Bottle rockets and aerial luminary, sky lanterns, sky candles or fire balloons are prohibited.

EDWARDSVILLE: Allowed July 1-4 between 9 a.m. and midnight. Fireworks may not be discharged in any city parks or city properties, such as a city parking lot. They also may not be discharged within 200 feet of a retail stand or facility where fireworks are stored.

GARDNER: Allowed July 3-5 from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Not allowed on any public property within city limits, including public streets and sidewalks.

JOHNSON COUNTY:
Fireworks are prohibited in all unincorporated areas of the county.

KANSAS CITY: Allowed July 2-4 from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Not allowed: bottle rockets, skyrockets. It is illegal to shoot fireworks on any public road, alley or sidewalk, within 150 feet of a fireworks stand or within 100 feet of a gas station.

LANSING: Fireworks can be discharged within Lansing city limits from July 1-4 between the hours of 12 p.m. and 10 p.m., except on July 4 when fireworks can be discharged within city limits from noon until 11 p.m. Bottle rockets, sky lanterns, skyrockets and Roman candles are not allowed.

LAWRENCE: Not allowed within city limits. Novelty items (party poppers, snappers, snakes, sparklers, toy caps and toy smoke devices) are allowed.

LEAVENWORTH: Not allowed within city limits.

FORT LEAVENWORTH: Personal fireworks also are prohibited on Fort Leavenworth.

LEAWOOD: Not allowed within city limits.

LENEXA: Not allowed within city limits, except for novelty fireworks like snakes, smoke bombs, etc.

OVERLAND PARK: Only fireworks allowed are snappers, snacks, toy pistols with caps, toy canes with caps.

PRAIRIE VILLAGE: Not allowed within city limits.

ROELAND PARK: Allowed July 3-4 between 8 a.m. and 11:30 p.m. Legal items include snakes, cone fountains without report, smoke bombs, whistling fountains without a report, sparklers, dipped sticks and firecrackers with less than 50 milligrams of powder. Bottle rockets and firecrackers with more than 50 milligrams of powder are prohibited.

SHAWNEE: Fireworks may be set off between 10 a.m. and 11 p.m. on July 3 and July 4, 2022.

Sparklers, smoke bombs, fountains and other fireworks are allowed. Bottle rockets, sky lanterns and M80's are NOT allowed.

SPRING HILL: Allowed July 2-5 from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. To light fireworks, the city requires you to be 18 years or older or be under adult supervision.
