OAKES, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – On Monday, Oakes Public School announced that Jeremy Skoglund would be named as the varsity boys’ basketball head coach for the upcoming 2022-23 season. Skoglund talked with us about what motivated him to apply for the role.

Skoglund is eager to start the season. He has already been working with the players not only this summer, but he has experience with some of his players in the past.

The Tornadoes are coming off of a rough season where they only were able to win two games in district play, and Coach Skoglund is hoping for a big bounce back season. When he was asked about the biggest areas the team needs improvement on, Skoglund said it’s time to go back to the basics.

Oakes allowed 54.5 points per game last season while scoring 46.7 points per game.
