The group departed for Texas where they received additional orders before leaving for an unknown destination.

The American Legion Post and the VFW Post sponsored a farewell ceremony for the soldiers and their families. The ceremony was also sponsored by the local Hy-Vee store. The 21-soldier platoon left Saturday, June 26, for Ft. Bliss, Texas, to receive additional training.
