If you're looking for Fourth of July firework displays, parades or celebrations near you, CBS 13 has compiled a list of locations across the state.
All events happen on July 4 unless otherwise noted.
Below is a list of some of the locations offering fireworks and celebrations:
Augusta
July 4th Independence Day Parade starts at 10 a.m. Floats will depart the State House Parking lot and the parade will end at the Augusta City Center.
Two fireworks displays are scheduled for 9:15 p.m. over Mill Park and across from the Waterfront Park. Other events include activities for kids & teens, food-trucks and live music.
Bath
Firework show is at 9:15 p.m. and is viewable from the Waterfront Park area. Click here for information on Bath’s Heritage Days festival.
Lewiston
On Monday, July 4th, festivities will begin at 5 PM in Lewiston at Veterans Park and at 6 PM in Auburn at Great Falls Plaza. On Monday, July 4th, festivities will begin at 5 PM in Lewiston at Veterans Park and at 6 PM in Auburn at Great Falls Plaza.
Ogunquit
Celebrate Independence Day with fireworks at Ogunquit Beach. Great views from the entire beach, from Main Beach all the way up to Footbridge Beach, North Beach and beyond. Fireworks begin at 9:15 pm. Rain date: July 5.
Naples
The Naples Causeway will be closed on July 4th to traffic beginning at 2 PM to allow for the July 4th parade and will reopen immediately after it is finished. The Causeway will close to traffic again at 9:25 p.m. and for the duration of the fireworks.
Portland
The fireworks display will be held on July 4, in its usual spot on the Eastern Promenade with the fireworks set to go off around 9:15 p.m.. A rain date is scheduled for Tuesday, July 5. Food trucks will be available in the Cutter Street lot.
Fireworks will be launched from the East End Trail. The trail will need to be closed from Cutter Street to the Water Treatment Plant from 6 a.m. until approximately 11 p.m. In the event of rain, these trail closings would be in effect until Tuesday, July 5 (same times would apply).
The city would like to remind the public that the fireworks can be seen from other locations than the Eastern Promenade. These locations include East End Beach, Fort Allen Park, Amethyst Park, Baxter Boulevard, Payson Park, Martin’s Point on Veranda Street, and Bug Light in South Portland.
Street Closures
The following streets will be closed to vehicular traffic from approximately 5:30pm to 11:00pm, on Monday, July 4th (July 5th Rain date): Eastern Promenade at Morning Street, Wilson Street, Moody Street, and Congress Street. Also, Morning Street at Eastern Promenade, Wilson Street, Moody Street, and Congress Street, Eastern Promenade at Turner Street and Walnut Street; Morning Street at Turner Street; Emerson Street at Quebec Street and Melbourne Street; and Willis Street at Montreal Street and Walnut Street. In the event of rain, these street closings would be in effect for Tuesday, July 5th.
All of Munjoy Hill and the Eastern Promenade will be closed to traffic (from Washington Ave. up), starting at 6:30 pm on Monday July 4th (July 5th Rain date). Street closures include Mountfort Street at Fore Street and Congress Street; Washington Avenue at Marion Street, Cumberland Avenue, Walnut Street, and Eastern Promenade. Streets will be opened up again after the fireworks display (at approximately 11:00pm). In the event of rain, these street closings would be in effect for Tuesday, July 5th.
On-street parking will be restricted from 7:00am until 11:00pm on Monday July 4th at Eastern Promenade (both sides) from Morning Street to Washington Avenue, Fort Allen Park (both sides), Walnut Street (one side) from Eastern Promenade to Washington Avenue, Waterville Street (one side) from Fore Street to Adams Street, Adams Street (one side) from Waterville Street to Kellog Street, and Kellog Street (one side) from Adams Street to Congress Street. These streets will be posted in advance, any cars parked illegally will be towed at the owner’s expense. In the event of rain, these restrictions would be in effect for Tuesday, July 5th. With construction, these restrictions may be subject to change.
Cutter Street will be closed to vehicular traffic on Monday, July 4th (except for designated handicapped parking) from 6:00am to 11:00pm or until deemed safe by City Staff. Access will be allowed for boat launch (no extended parking, drop off/pick up only) until 6:30pm on Monday, July 4th. In the event of rain, these street closings would be in effect at 6:00am on Tuesday July, 5th and ending at approximately 11:00pm.
Rangeley
On July 3, the Rangeley Town Park will come to life with activities, food and entertainment for all ages. Festivities begin at 10 a.m. with the Children’s Doll Carriage Parade on Main Street and the Duck Race on Haley Pond, and go out with a bang as the fireworks get underway at dusk. Sanford
Block Party with vendors open for business at 2 p.m., Maine Attraction Water Ski Team warmups at 6 p.m., Show at 6:30pm, music by Fireball at 7:30 p.m. with fireworks to follow around 9 p.m. at Number One Pond on July 3.
July 4th Parade begins at 10 a.m. at Malcolm Ave and ends at Gowen Park.
York
York will have two fireworks shows. The first is on July 2 at Hartley Mason Park in York Harbor Beach. The second is on July 3 at Short Sands Beach. Fireworks begin around 9 p.m. Arrive early for parking.
