TACOMA, Wash. — Police arrested two males Wednesday night they suspect are responsible for shooting a driver from a car in Pierce County last week.
According to a Tacoma Police Department press release, officers arrested a 20-year-old man for first-degree assault and drive-by shooting and arrested a 19-year-old for drive-by shooting. Both suspects were booked into Pierce County Jail.
The 45-year-old victim was taken to the hospital after the incident. His condition was not mentioned in the release.
At 12:40 p.m. on June 23, Tacoma fire crews responded to the intersection of 29th Street NE and Norpoint Way NE, where a driver said he could not feel his legs. Medics soon realized the driver had been shot, police said.
According to police, the victim driver was headed north on Norpoint Way NE when an SUV pulled alongside his car and began yelling at the victim for driving too slow. The victim continued to 29th Street NE and shots were fired from the SUV, hitting the victim, said police, who established two suspects in the incident.
