Two-vehicle wreck Thursday morning sends Russell Springs woman to hospital

A two-vehicle wreck on South Highway 127 Thursday morning sent a Russell Springs woman to the hospital, according to Russell Springs Police.

The wreck occurred at around 6:39 a.m. Thursday when a 2003 Chevy Pickup operated by 25-year-old Tristan C. Adkins of Jamestown struck a 2012 Kia Sportage operated by 57-year-old Monica Burke of Russell Springs.

The collision caused Burke’s vehicle to go off the roadway into the parking lot of the Valero gas station off South 127 and came to rest at the side of a semi-trailer.

Adkins was not injured in the collision. Burke was transported to Russell County Hospital where she was treated and later released.

Officer Clete McAninch worked the collision. He was assisted on scene by Assistant Police Chief Bryan Shepherd, Russell County EMS, and the Russell Springs Fire Department.
