Police are looking for a teen who allegedly stabbed another teen during a fight in central Salina early Thursday morning.

Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said this morning that officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Montrose Street at 1 a.m. Thursday for the report of a possible stabbing.

Two brothers, ages 13 and 14, had been exchanging words with another 14-year-old boy for several days, beginning with a verbal altercation at Kenwood Cove, Forrester said. The boys decided to fight and the 14-year-old boy met the brothers in the 600 block of Montrose Street early this morning.

During the fight, the boy allegedly pulled a knife and stabbed the 14-year-old brother in the thigh and buttocks, Forrester said. The 13-year-old brother received a laceration on his leg, he added.

The father of the two brothers came out of the house and broke up the fight.

The 14-year-old brother was taken to Salina Regional Health Center by a parent before police arrived. The 13-year-old was transported by EMS to Salina Regional, Forrester said.

Police are still looking for the 14-year-old boy who was involved in the fight with the brothers.
