Two teens arrested for first-degree murder in relation to March 2021 homicide in Omaha
A 16-year-old and a 15-year-old were arrested in relation to a March 2021 homicide in Omaha, according to law enforcement.
The Omaha Police Department Homicide Unit obtained arrest warrants Wednesday for Dech Gach and Gatluak Jiel, who are suspects in the murder of Larry Thompson, Omaha police said.
With assistance from the US Marshals Northern Iowa Fugitive Task Force and the US Marshals Arizona Wanted Violent Offender Task Force, Gach and Jiel were taken into custody for first-degree murder, use of a weapon to commit a felony and criminal conspiracy, according to authorities.
In August, Christopher Trejo was arrested in relation to Thompson's death.
On March 12, 2021, officers found the 59-year-old Thompson with apparent gunshot wounds near 28th Avenue and Spencer Street. He was taken to a hospital where he later died.
