Update - 7/5: A Unicoi business owner is facing more charges, according to Washington County Sheriff Keith Sexton.
Steven Chase Willis is facing two counts of theft over $2,500 and two counts of deceptive business practices.
Willis appeared in court Tuesday. His bond was set at $20,000. More charges are expected to be filed, police said.

A Unicoi business owner has been charged with theft over $10,000, according to Washington County, Tennessee Sheriff Keith Sexton.
Steven Chase Willis, 27, of Erwin, is the owner of Earth Effects Landscaping, according to police. The sheriff's office said it began receiving complaints of a landscaping business that was contracting with customers in Washington County.
Police said the business was taking large down payments from customers and then not returning to start the job. The business ceased operations after several thousands of dollars were taken from customers as down payments for projects contracted through Willis, according to police.
Willis was arrested on June 25 and his bond was set at $7,500, according to police. He has since posted bond and is due in court at a later date. More charges are pending.
