The Grand Traverse County Health Department has issued a no body contact advisory for Clinch Park Beach after it exceeded the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy’s E. coli body contact limits.
Clinch Park E. coli levels were found at 1046 colonies per 100/ml, which is a Level 3 no body contact advisory (E. coli levels exceed EGLE standards, no body contact advised)
With the exception of Clinch Park, all beach sampling from Wednesday have reported satisfactory water quality and all other beaches are at Level 1 for full body contact.
Follow up sampling at Clinch Park is being conducted Thursday, with results expected Friday.
