Celebrate Fourth of July with fireworks and more at local events

Fourth of July celebrations — complete with fireworks — are planned for two local cities, Sugar Hill and Braselton, as well as Lanier Islands.

Sparks in the Park

Sugar Hill will host Sparks in the Park, its annual free fireworks display, Sunday, July 3, at E. E. Robinson Park North. Festivities will begin at 6:30 p.m. with fireworks to start at sundown. Sibling Rivalry: Tristan and Tyler Reese Tritt will perform live during the event, and guests are invited to bring chairs and blankets, as well as food and drinks. Food trucks will be parked at the entrance to Sugar Hill Elementary School.

According to city officials, parking at the Level Creek E. E. Robinson Park North entrance lot is limited to those with American Disabilities Act stickers. Others may park and walk on sidewalks from Sugar Hill Elementary School, Sugar Hill Church and E. E. Robinson Park South to E. E. Robinson Park North. No shuttle service will be available.

The city of Braselton will present a free fireworks show at dark on Monday, July 4. Celebrate Braselton — the city’s annual Fourth of July celebration — will also include a festival that begins at 5 p.m. with activities on the Town Green and food trucks. A parade will be held from 6 to 6:30 p.m. along Ga. Highway 53 through downtown and Braselton Park, and a concert on the Town Green will feature The Soul Purpose Band performing from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
