After an Upstate woman's disappearance in Late January, her family is still searching for answers and police are still searching for leads. A ceremony will be held Thursday to mark 5 months since she was last seen.
Alexis Ware was last seen January 30th at a 7-Eleven store in Anderson. Her car was found less than a week later in McCormick County, but there was no sign of her. Today marks exactly 5 months since she was last seen.
Thursday night, the family and friends of Alexis Ware will hold the unveiling of a billboard and a candlelight vigil. The Upstate based group Fighting Injustice Together is helping organize the event. The billboard is being donated by the Black and Missing Foundation, a non-profit that helps bring awareness to missing people of color nationwide.
The billboard at Woodruff Road and Miller Road will be unveiled at 6 pm, with the billboard going live at 6:15. A candlelight vigil will be held at 7 PM. The disappearance of Alexis Ware is still under investigation.
