SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY along the Great Lakes and a GALE WARNING on Lake Michigan. Those are indications of how strong the wind will be today. Also, this time of year it means BEACH HAZARD. High wind will create strong currents, and that is a swimming hazard.
North of a line between Traverse City and Gaylord, look for passing thunderstorms today, but some sun, too. South of that line, it will be sunny much of the day. Highs today will range from 72 to 78 degrees in the eastern Upper Peninsula and from 75 to 90 degrees across the northern Lower. Wind may be an issue. Some of the gusts will be over 35 miles per hour. The wind will come mainly from the southwest.
Tonight we're expecting passing thunderstorms. We all have a chance for some rain, and anyone may get lightning as well. Overnight low temperatures will be in the 50s in the U.P...and mostly 60s in the Lower. Wind will decrease as the thunderstorms pass us.
Early Friday morning some of this rain could be left behind, but much of the day will be sunny. Low humidity, lighter wind. Nice day. The wind will turn to the northwest 5-15 mph. High temperatures will average 68 degrees in the U.P...and 75 degrees in the Lower.
Friday night will be beautiful. Mostly clear sky. Little wind. Lows mostly in the 50s.
Saturday look for sunshine Light wind 5-15 mph from the northwest. Low humidity. Highs from 65 to 80 degrees...with the cooler temperatures at the beaches.
Saturday night...partly cloudy. Light wind. Lows from 45 to near 60 degrees.
Sunday will be mostly sunny. The chance for rain is small, but not zero. Highs from 70 to 85 degrees. Light wind. Low humidity.
Sunday night will be partly cloudy. Lows from the upper 40s to around 60 degrees.
Monday...the 4th of July...some sunshine, but also some scattered showers. Highs will average 72 degrees in the U.P...and 80 degrees in the Lower.
Monday evening will be partly cloudy. Just after sunset, most temperatures will be in the 60s. There could be some scattered, hit or miss type rain around the region.
