Recruiting update: Hoover OL picks ACC school; lots of upcoming commitments

During a week that should see a flurry of college football commitments, Duke started the parade on Tuesday with an OL from Hoover.

Ethan Hubbard chose the Blue Devils over Central Florida, South Florida, Western Kentucky and more. The 6-foot-6, 285-pound Hubbard is a senior.

Some of the top prospects in the state are set to announce commitments over the next week and AL.com predicted landing spots.

Pinson Valley’s TJ Metcalf announced his top 4 on Wednesday and listed his commitment date as Friday.

The 3-star DB will choose from Arkansas, Penn State, Ole Miss or Jackson State. The 6-1, 185-pound senior also had offers from Georgia, Michigan and more.

He’s the state’s No. 24 prospect among 247Sports top seniors and No. 30 in the Rivals list of top seniors.

Arkansas State has been busy in the past week. The Red Wolves picked two commitments and offered several others.

Moody’s Mason Myers committed to the Red Wolves on Tuesday.

The 6-5, 265-pound 3-star OL also had offers from Georgia Tech, Army, Tulane and more.

Minor OL Joshua Daniel announced his commitment to Arkansas State on Wednesday.

The 6-4, 315-pound senior also had an offer from Alabama State.

The Red Wolves offered two other state players recently.

Parker’s Na’eem Offord picked up an offer to go along with others from Mississippi State, Tulane, UAB and more.

The 6-2, 173-pound ATH is a sophomore.

Moody’s Tylan Blaine Burke added to his list with a Red Wolves offer. The 5-8, 174-pound junior RB also has an offer from Louisville and others.

MORE OFFERS

Sparkman’s Matt Rozier picked up an offer from Army to go along with a list that includes Navy and Southern Mississippi.

The 6-foot, 180-pound WR is a senior.

Thompson eighth-grader Trent Seaborn has created an early buzz.

The 5-11, 165-pound QB, who transferred from Colorado, picked up an early offer from Maryland and Troy entered the fray on Monday.

NARROWING THE LIST

Orange Beach senior Christopher Pearson pared his list to 3.

The 6-1, 190-pound 3-star DB will decide among UAB, Central Florida and Liberty.
