Due to campus road construction, COVID-19 testing at Holyoke Community College will be conducted in parking lot R beginning today.
Since April, the college has been partnering with Curative and the municipal Board of Health to offer free PCR tests seven days a week through Curative’s mobile COVID-19 testing trailer. The trailer had previously been stationed in parking lot M outside the Bartley Center for Athletics & Recreation on the main campus at 303 Homestead Ave.
Testing is available weekdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and weekends from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be no testing on July 4.
Beginning today, the campus ring road stretching from the main entrance on Homestead Avenue to George Frost Road will be closed. Access to campus via George Frost Road remains open but drivers entering there will not be able to make a left hand turn.
Visitors should follow the signs for COVID-19 testing, which direct drivers around the ring road past the Kittredge Center and Campus Center into parking lot R.
Roadwork should be completed before the start of the fall semester in September.
Curative uses self-collected, shallow nasal PCR tests. Results are generally available in one to two days. Testing is free. Appointments are preferred. Slots can be reserved online at cur.tv/hcc.
Walk-ins are also welcome.
Testing hours may change due to inclement weather or holidays.
