LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Grand Island Police are reporting another possible beef theft, just days after nearly $400,000 worth of meat disappeared.

This latest case doesn’t come close to topping that investigation but is concerning nonetheless.

A man living north of Fonner Park reports that someone pried open the door of his detached garage.

He said a gas can was stolen from inside, along with a package of individually wrapped hamburgers.

Police tell us he later found those items, along with a neighbor’s 1-pound tube of ground beef, in a nearby pickup truck.

This all happened early Wednesday morning on South Cherry Street.

So far, police have not identified any suspects.
