CAUGHT ON CAMERA: Man wanted for stabbing Food 4 Less employee in Merced

An employee at a Food 4 Less was stabbed while trying to stop a man from stealing on Wednesday in North Merced.

Merced Police were called to the Food 4 Less Supermarket near R street and Olive Avenue for reports of someone that was stabbed.

Officers say when they got there, they found a 31-year-old employee who said he was stabbed when he tried to stop a man who was stealing from the store.

The whole situation was captured on security camera, as well as witnessed by multiple people.

According to witnesses, a Hispanic male wearing a black beanie walked into the store with another unidentified person.

Not long after entering the store, the two were seen quickly running out and holding multiple merchandise items.

The worker saw this and tried to stop the men, but got into a physical match with one of them and was stabbed with a sharp object.

After the stabbing, both men took off in dark blue car that had another male and female inside.

The employee who was stabbed was taken to the hospital where he is now in stable condition.
