happy family standing on the hill and watching the fireworks

Tom Wang

Due to current high fire danger conditions, Norfolk Fire and Rescue will not be issuing open burning permits and are asking residents to avoid firework usage on Thursday.

The fire division has responded to multiple firework-related fires, and are asking for your cooperation.

Fires caused by fireworks or any other ignition source at this time will be very difficult to control due to high winds, low relative humidity, and high temperatures.

For any questions or concerns, call the City of Norfolk Fire Division at 402-844-2050.
