Fan-favorite Bobby Portis has declined his $4.7 million player option with the Bucks, but he could still return to Milwaukee.
Portis becomes an unrestricted free agent Friday.
Most NBA observers expect him to re-sign with the Bucks.
Using his Early Bird rights, Portis could get a four-year, $49 million deal.
He was a big part of the team’s success last season.
Portis contributed quality minutes for several months while Brook Lopez was recovering from back surgery.
The “Mayor of Milwaukee” averaged 14.6 points and just over 9 rebounds a game, starting 59 times.
