ATF-Dallas Issues Stark Warning Amid Machine Gun Possession Conviction

Fort Worth (WBAP/KLIF) – A North Texas man who rapped about having a machine gun converter was convicted of possessing a machine gun in a federal court in Fort Worth.

25-year old Keidric Bbrown was pulled over by an Arlington police officer in mid-January after noting that his insurance had expired, According to a press released from the u-s attorney’s office.

The press release says the officer observed the “smell of marijuana” and searched Brown’s vehicle, finding a Glock 9mm pistol under the driver’s seat, with a 31-round high-capacity magazine and a red plastic switch attached to the gun. Such switches are banned for most civilian use in the National Firearms Act. Machine gun converter kits can be made on 3D printers.

During Brown’s trial, prosecutors played Brown’s rap videos, which contained lyrics about “My Glock, it came with a switch” and “I aim, I don’t miss,” the news release said.

Jeffrey C. Boshek II, the ATF’s Dallas Field Division’s special agent in charge said in the release, “I cannot stress enough how dangerous machine gun conversion devices are and the levels at which they are being used in our communities. Earlier this month he told our media partner WFAA-TV that the converters are, “the scariest thing I’ve seen in my time as an ATF agent.”

Brown faces up to 10 years in prison.
