Fort Madison, IA- The Fort Madison Independence Day celebration will be held Monday, July 4th, at Riverview Park.
Only a small portion of the park west of the pavilion will be blocked off for the pyrotechnics safety zone. To accommodate spectators, Avenue H will be barricaded at 6th and 10th Streets beginning at 8:00 PM.
The closed road will be used for public seating until the conclusion of the fireworks display.
Authorities remind residents that private use of fireworks is generally prohibited in the city limits, with the exception of novelty items such as hand-held sparklers, smoke bombs, snakes, and party snappers.
