Post 17 falls twice to Renner

RENNER, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) – Watertown Post 17 would fall twice to Renner on Wednesday.

The purple and gold were blanked in game one 9-0. Ben Althoff would put down two of Watertown’s three hits in the game. Jackson Maag pitched four and a third innings allowing eight hits, six runs, walking five while striking out three. Kyle Karst pitched an inning and two-thirds in relief.

Trailing 4-2 in game two, Renner would put down a three spot in the bottom of the seventh to claim the 5-4 victory. Drew Denzer and Althoff would have a two-hit game. Denzer, Ryan Roby, and Kolby Lacher would each send runs past the plate. Jerod Cyrus pitched six and two-thirds innings allowing three hits, four runs, walked seven while fanning seven.

Watertown Post 17 (14-29) will come home to face power points leading Brandon tonight. Coach Ryan Neale previews the game:

Watertown Junior Legion grabbed two more victories at home against Renner Post 307 last night, 9-8 and 3-2. Watertown JL (25-10) will travel to Brandon tonight for a 5 and 7 p.m. first pitch.
