FALL RIVER — The city's annual Fourth of July celebration will include music and food trucks before capping off with fireworks over the Taunton River.

“Bringing back the fireworks last year felt like bringing back a sense of normalcy and community," said Mayor Paul Coogan. "People seemed excited to be celebrating together again and the crowd was incredibly respectful, to each other and to the parks."

From 5 to 9 p.m. on Monday, July 4, there will be a DJ set at Heritage State Park Meadow. There will also be food trucks along the Heritage State bike path including Green Jar Cocina, Friskie Fries, Red’s RI, Black Dog Donuts, Gnarly Vines Farm and Del’s Lemonade.

A crowd gathers on the lawn at Fall River Heritage State Park before the July 4 fireworks celebration for 2021.

At the Veterans Memorial Bicentennial Park, the Saint Cecilia Band Club, a 30-piece band playing patriotic classics, will perform from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. in front of the Iwo Jima Monument. Nonno’s Ice Cream Shoppe will be selling their homemade

ice cream and Italian ice.

The fireworks will kick off at around 9 or 9:30 that night.

There will be a volunteer clean-up lead by the mayor's office starting outside the Heritage Park Visitors Center at 10 a.m.
