Q: Who wins the boxing match between Adrian Peterson and Le’Veon Bell in July?

A: A question like this posed to a Vikings website without the answer “Adrian Peterson” would be odd.

We’ll take Peterson even though he’s older than his opponent. It’s no secret that Peterson is [and was] a freakishly athletic beast, which should translate well to a boxing ring. Bell is more fun-loving than Peterson, while the former Viking possesses a killer instinct.

Give us Peterson because, well, he’s Peterson.

Peterson is the underdog, though.

Q: Which Vikings player should be the next Ring of Honor inductee at U.S. Bank Stadium?

A: If the Vikings have semi-immediate plans to enshrine a new member to the Ring of Honor, it should be Jared Allen.

Allen last played for the Vikings in 2013 and left the sport after the 2015 season. It’s time. By the time the Vikings ownership got around to it, if Allen is “the guy,” he’d be 10 years removed.

Should the Vikings induct nobody in the near future, the aforementioned Peterson is a no-brainer whenever they’re ready for the next ROH candidate.

Q: What record for the Vikings in 2022 would be considered a good first year for Kevin O’Connell?

A: The Vikings must finish 10-7 with a playoff appearance — and not get slaughtered in Round 1 — to merit a good first season for Kevin O’Connell.

Minnesota could’ve burned down the roster and started over this offseason. They didn’t. Now, after renewing playoff-contendership stakes — especially with Kirk Cousins still employed — Minnesota must reach the postseason for the first time since 2019.

Anything less would probably signal a shift away from Cousins at QB1.
